Welcome to the Eastern District Orchid Society Inc

About E.D.O.S. Inc

Eastern District Orchid Society Inc (EDOS Inc) 

EDOS Inc was founded on in 1966. EDOS Inc has been affiliated with Queensland Orchid Society (QOS) since 1980 and is a very active society.  EDOS Inc is dedicated to advancement of knowledge of all things Orchids.

EDOS Inc holds two shows per year a autumn (March)  and spring (September) . For the dates of the next show please look at the show page.

EDOS Inc Meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Bayside Uniting Church Hall, 420 Wondall Road, Manly West, starting at 07:30 pm with our red spotters club, followed by our general meeting at 08:00pm.

Visitors are welcome to attend.

Note: EDOS Inc have only just recently moved to this meeting place as our previous hall has been demolished to make way for a new hall.

Objectives of Eastern District Orchid Society Inc

To promotion the knowledge and advancement of all that pertains to orchids including their natural history, propagation and cultivation;

To encourage and support the culture and conservation of orchids, generally, in horticulture, and in their native habitat;

To liaise with relevant authorities and community groups for re-establishment of orchids in their native habitat and the general protection of orchids in the environment;

To educate members and public generally by publishing, editing or reviewing information which relates to the scientific, cultural and general knowledge of orchids;

To promote and conduct orchid shows, displays or exhibitions, either alone or in conjunction with other societies, authorities or persons;

To promote good fellowship and create public interest in the activities of EDOS Inc.
